- Enter your mobile number in the text box to the right and you will receive a text message. Just click the link in the text message and the software download begins.
- Install the application
- You will be asked a few questions to create settings for your application. (Don't worry, if necessary you can go back and change these later). Make sure your e-mail address is the same in the application as in the community ? it is the link between your mobile and activeoutdoor.com.
Wayfinder Active is a free GPS application for mobile phones with a unique combination of maps, GPS recording and statistics, all designed for active people. With the application installed on your mobile, you will get access to street maps for Europe and North America and a world base map. For only 195 SEK you can download outdoor maps of your preferred area, or full coverage of Sweden for 995 SEK. Switching between outdoor maps and street maps can be done at any time.
When using the application your activity is recorded in a standard GPX format. When finishing your route or training trails, an e-mail is sent to you with the statistics and a map displaying your tour, plus a text message making sure that your activity is uploaded to the activeoutdoor.com community. Keeping track of your outdoor activities has never been easier, or safer!
The application is connected to mobile internet when you have coverage, but if needed, for example when hiking on the mountain, you can preload the route on the phone memory. In other words ? the application will always work!
But there's more to it. With the mobile application you will get unique features like:
- Detailed statistics: Maximum, current and average speed. Distance, calories burned, altitude info. And of course your current location.
- Send coordinates - If in trouble, just send a message with your position to a preferred contact in your address book. In some countries the SMS is sent directly to the national rescue services.
- Import routes and tracks from the community directly to your mobile application. If you find an interesting route on the activeoutdoor.com community, just download it to your mobile and get going!
- Compass. We guarantee that you won't get lost...

What you will need
- A mobile phone with a subscription for GPRS/3G
- A phone that runs on the Java-platform, (as do most Sony Ericsson and Nokia phones)
- A phone with built-in GPS or a separate GPS-receiver, which you can buy here.
